The Section of Endocrinology focuses on the glands and hormones of the body and their related disorders. The Section manages the Newborn Screening Program for Southern Arizona and is the home for The Angel Wing for Children With Diabetes — the only pediatric clinic in Southern Arizona that is completely devoted to children with diabetes and other endocrine disorders.
We see patients with:
- Diabetes
- Thyroid problems
- Hypoglycemia
- Turner's Syndrome
- Obesity
- Abnormal pubertal/sexual development
- Congenital Adrenal Hyperplasia
- Panhypopituitarism
- Abnormal growth or hormonal problems due to tumors or radiation treatment
- Chronic renal problems affecting growth
